Marina, which opened its doors in 1973, is a well-known address in Ostend for Italian cuisine. And now that it has been awarded the "ristorante italiano" label there can be no doubt as to the quality of its cuisine. The label is issues by the Italian government’s taste officers and may only be used for restaurants outside of Italy which adhere to the Italian culinary tradition. Chef and owner Domenica Acquaro hails from Puglia. Although he has owned his restaurant for 36 years he has never cut the ties with his native Italy. On the contrary: He is visibly proud to present the very best that the fertile Italian soil has to offer.
