Experience the North Sea shrimp

Discover the adventure of shrimp fishing in Ostend!

Come with your team, group of friends, or organization and experience the unique thrill of the only 8-meter-wide shrimp drag net on the coast. You’ll gear up in waders and a bright yellow oilskin jacket. Before entering the sea, you'll learn how to read it. Together, you’ll prepare the net and step side by side into the water. It’s a unique team-building activity where you’ll truly feel and taste the sea. Alongside shrimping, you’ll also try longe-côte or sea wading – the new trend in exploring the sea in an entirely different way.

Shrimping takes place right where the waves break! Two guide-animators ensure safety and share fascinating insights about your catch. Do you know what a weever fish is, which jellyfish sting, how to safely handle a crab, and the difference between a turbot and a dab? All fishing is done with respect for nature.

After the shrimping, relax with a drink while hearing captivating stories about the lives of fishermen and taking a visual journey into the world of the shrimp.

Want to customize the experience for your whole team? Choose the "combo team-building"! Team members who’d rather stay on land can join the “Teambuilding Beach Walk.” This walk is themed around “Experience the North Sea Shrimp” and ends with the Après-Fish and a social drink.

Note: The best shrimp are caught in autumn, during shrimp season. While catches can't be guaranteed, the experienced guides ensure an unforgettable experience, no matter the outcome. The results depend on the season, wind, water temperature, and current… But don’t worry – the seasoned guide-animators always make it special.
