Flanders Heritage Venues expanded with De Grote Post

VISIT Flanders has been dedicated to promoting Flanders Heritage Venues ever since 2017. The network aims to present high-impact and experience-packed conference venues that are known for their outstanding quality to an international public. Kursaal Oostende has been included in this selection ever since 2019, and De Grote Post can now proudly join its ranks as a Flanders Heritage Venue.

There are 31 Flanders Heritage Venues in all, of which two are currently located in Ostend. The network was expanded in 2023 through the addition of twelve meeting and conference venues. Each of these are heritage properties or venues that offer an exceptional context. They were able to successfully withstand a thorough quality audit to guarantee their ability to make a fantastic impression on conference organisers and participants worldwide for many years to come. Sustainability and the ‘Travelling to Tomorrow’ strategy endorsed by VISIT Flanders are also among the key criteria imposed on the selection of these venues.

That De Grote Post was admitted to the network is hardly surprising. The individuality of the building, its history and architecture, as well as the professional context within which the venue operates all comprise a unique combination of factors that you will find nowhere else but at De Grote Post. De Grote Post offers extensive and professional support, as well as all the facilities required for MICE activities, including meeting rooms, conference halls, event venues and catering facilities. The former post office was opened as the latest cultural beacon of the city of Ostend in 2012. In the meantime, De Grote Post has grown into a buzzing meeting place for the general public, conference attendees and artists alike.
